Nizar Hassan’s way of peaceful resistance through art

Nizar Hassan was born and educated in occupied Palestinian territory. He grew up to be a film maker. He ridiculed the Israeli idea of Independence in his film because they occupied Palestinians and dubbed it as their freedom. While the world attention was directed to Israeli annexation, Nizar Hassan e-mailed the author a cutting of ‘My Grandfather’s Path’ whose main message was built on the idea of peaceful resistance through art and film while avoiding the trap of becoming as brutal as your enemies are. The film is long but beautifully made. It was telecast by Aljazeera in bits but is worth watching in one sitting.
